Aim and Scope

Journal of Child and Youth Psychology is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access, and free-of-charge scholarly journal that publishes original research articles and review articles in the fields of developmental and clinical psychology relating to childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.

The journal aims to contribute to the scientific literature and promote the development of evidence-based professional practices by publishing high-quality research on the psychological and social development, mental health, behavior, and psychological intervention processes of children, adolescents, and young people.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:

  • cognitive, emotional, and social development,
  • child and adolescent psychopathology,
  • mental health and psychological well-being,

Interdisciplinary Approach

The journal encourages interdisciplinary research that addresses the psychological development and well-being of children and young people from a holistic perspective. Accordingly, it welcomes scholarly contributions from researchers and practitioners in psychology, psychological counseling and guidance, child development, psychiatry, educational sciences, social work, nursing, and related disciplines.

The journal seeks to strengthen the exchange of scientific knowledge among researchers, mental health professionals, educators, and other relevant professionals and to contribute to the development of evidence-based research, practice, and policies concerning children, adolescents, and young people.
